As the Austin terrain moves to the northwest, the rolling hills and lush scenery make their arrival.  Located north of 2222 and west of the Mopac Expressway, this collection of communities is characterized by its charm, its schools and the wide array of home sizes, styles and prices.

As Austin grew, the Mopac Expressway, or Highway 1, was constructed as a bypass around the hustle and bustle of Central Austin.  Yet this new highway soon gave way to a consistent string of residential and commercial development all the way up to Williamson County.  Later, Highway 183 was turned into a six lane expressway and ultimately toll road leading up to Cedar Park, some 20 miles to the northwest.

Along these routes are some of the most popular, established neighborhoods in Austin.  Cat Mountain, with its wonderful collection of higher end homes with some of the most breathtaking valley views in all of Austin, is located just to the west of Mopac and north of 2222.  The hills of Central Texas begin to take shape in this part of Austin and are characterized by winding roads and rolling hills.  Great Hills is another hillside community and home to the Great Hills Country Club featuring tennis, golf and recreation.

Further north are the more affordable sections of Northwest Austin including Balcones and Anderson Mill.  These developments are rooted just west of Highway 183 and offer an outstanding collection of starter homes along with newer developments featuring the latest in sought after amenities including parks, trails and new schools.

Jester Estates sits still further northwest of Austin on top of and surrounded by some of the largest hills in the area, offering outstanding views of the outdoors and quick commutes downtown by way of Highway 620 and Loop 360.

Northwest Austin provides perhaps the widest variety in terms of homes for sale in all of Austin and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful outdoor environments in central Texas.
