The area considered as North Central encompasses a wide area of real estate from around 2222 north into Williamson County and is a center of business activity and a vast collection of neighborhoods. North Central Austin is bound on either side by Highway 183 and I-35. This area of Central Texas is a combination of older, established neighborhoods along with brand new developments up and down the Mopac and 183 corridors.
Some of the more historic neighborhoods in North Central Austin are Hyde Park and Allendale. Hyde Park at one time was the original home of the State Fair of Texas before the fair moved to Dallas in 1870.
