Bee Caves

What was once a charming hill country village has quickly become one of the most vibrant areas in all of Central Texas. Bee Cave, located just 10 minutes west of Austin and a short drive from Lake Travis, is home to nearly 5,000 residents who enjoy the stunning beauty of rolling hills, valleys, lakes and streams. Bee Cave was so named by the early settlers that arrived in the area due a system of caves full of bees and the Bee Cave post office was established in 1870.

Bee Cave’s geographical location as well as the convergence of the newly expanded highways of 71, 620 and FM 2244 has made this area a destination community. The first wave of recent development arrived with the opening of the outdoor shopping center, the new Hill Country Galleria. Anchored by national brands and decorated with restaurants, bistros and art galleries throughout, the Hill Country Galleria is frequented by thousands each year.

The homes in Bee Cave are a mix of older, established neighborhoods surrounded by newer developments ranging from a series of beautiful master planned communities as well as higher end custom homes on large lots on the outskirts of town.

There is no shortage of things to do for Bee Cave residents. Nearby Lake Travis, one of the most popular lakes in Texas is home to all things related to water activities including boating, sailing, fishing and skiing. Camping, hiking and biking are also popular outdoor activities around Lake Travis. There is no shortage of golf in and around Bee Cave with no fewer than seven public and private golf courses that challenge all skill levels.
